Food Inc.

Big industries are pushing small farmers out of business. The companies fail to realize the health and safety aspects of it all. They could care less. The government also fails to acknowledge the risks. The government’s effort to help provide cheap food is what matters to them. According to the documentary, there may be a global food supply crisis. In my opinion, It is unfair for the small farmers out there, especially if owning a farm is all they know. The typical farmer derives from a family of farmers. They grew up on a farm, their life revolved around farming. Imagine something of all you know and breathe being taken away from you. Well, that is what is happening to the farmers, and it is not fair. Someone could at least try and hear them out, hear what they have to say. More importantly, the global food supply should not be in crisis! It is not right, as in not normal. It is not suppose to happen, but yet, it is happening. What’s being done about it? Probably not much. And what’s up with the government worrying about providing cheap food? It might be beneficial to those who are less fortunate than others, but at the end of the day it turns out to be bad for your body. Everybody (well, at least most) people know cheap foods are usually bad for the body…..anybody! …Animal bodies, human bodies, and, if they existed, alien bodies. The huge problem is that healthy foods conflict with great prices and is hard to beat the cheap, junk food. I personally would prefer fresh, local, straight from the farm, food. It may be a little more expensive than cheap, junk food, but at least I know I am doing it for the good of my body. You can’t always see what goes on inside.
